Safety Switches & Breakers Tripping
Repeated trips can point to an appliance fault, moisture, damaged cable, an overload or a short circuit. We identify which device is tripping and test the circuit to trace the cause.

FAULT FINDING SERVICES
From one dead outlet to faults affecting the whole property. We test for the cause before replacing parts.
Repeated trips can point to an appliance fault, moisture, damaged cable, an overload or a short circuit. We identify which device is tripping and test the circuit to trace the cause.
Dead power points or power loss in part of the house can come from a failed breaker, damaged joint or supply issue. We test the affected circuit and check connections for heat damage.
Lights dipping when large appliances start can indicate a loose connection, an overloaded circuit or a supply problem. Voltage testing helps establish whether the fault is within the property or on the network side.
Heat, crackling, scorch marks or burning smells need urgent attention. Stop using the affected fitting and call. We assess the fault, make the circuit safe and explain the repair needed.
Some faults appear only after rain, during hot weather or when a particular appliance starts. Tell us when it happens and what was running so testing can focus on the likely triggers.
Moisture in outdoor fittings, damaged underground cable and chewed insulation can interrupt a whole circuit. We trace the affected section, assess the damage and explain the repair or make-safe options.
A switch trips overnight, outlets stop working or lights pulse when an appliance starts. Replacing parts without finding the cause can leave the underlying problem unresolved.
The same licensed electrician runs the tests, explains the fault, carries out the agreed repair and checks the circuit again before leaving.

HOW WE TEST
A process of elimination using test instruments and the pattern you have noticed.
What stopped working, what was running and when it happened help narrow the search.
Testing narrows the fault down before a repair is proposed
Electrical work is easy to get wrong and hard to see once the walls are closed. Here’s what you get when it’s done properly.

CLEAR NEXT STEPS
Once the cause is confirmed, we explain what failed and agree on the next step.
Diagnosis comes first. The repair price is agreed before parts are replaced.
Common outlet, switch, connection and safety-switch repairs can often be completed during the same visit.
A damaged cable run may need a larger repair. The affected section is isolated and the work is priced in writing.
An overloaded circuit, ageing board or deteriorated wiring may need an upgrade. We explain the options and why they are needed.
The repaired circuit is tested again, with findings recorded and a compliance certificate provided where required.
The fault explained, repaired and checked again
DONE PROPERLY
A clear explanation, an agreed repair price and a record of the work.
Know which circuit, fitting or appliance caused the fault and why, so you can make an informed repair decision.
Diagnosis and repair are kept separate. Once the cause is found, the repair is priced before work begins.
Landlords, property managers and insurers can request a written account of the cause, repair and other risks identified.
Call day or night for burning smells, sparking or urgent loss of power so the fault can be assessed and made safe.
FROM FIRST CALL TO HANDOVER
Clear steps from your first enquiry to the completed work.
Tell us what stopped working, when it started and what triggers it. A photo of the switchboard can help plan the visit.
Visits are often available the same or next day. Urgent faults are prioritised. We explain the cause and repair price before proceeding.
After the agreed repair, we retest the circuit, record the findings and issue a compliance certificate where the work requires it.

BEFORE YOU BOOK
Call or send your details if you have another question.
By narrowing it down step by step. The faulty circuit is identified at the switchboard, the wiring is tested with an insulation resistance tester, and the fittings and appliances on that circuit are checked until the cause shows itself. Straightforward household faults are usually found on the first visit.
Fault finding is charged on the time it takes to locate the problem, plus any parts the repair needs. Hourly rates vary between electricians, so ask how the first hour and any call-out are handled before you book. A clear description of the fault, and a few photos, usually shortens the time on site.
Usually, yes. Common repairs such as an outlet, a switch, an RCD or a loose connection are done there and then. Bigger jobs, like replacing a damaged cable run, are made safe on the day and booked in with a written price.
Intermittent faults are common. The circuits most likely to be involved are tested under load, the likely triggers are checked, and you’re told exactly what to note if it happens again, so a return visit goes straight to the cause.
Not automatically. Age is only a rough guide; an insulation test on each circuit is what shows whether the cable is still sound. Plenty of 1970s wiring tests well, and the problems that do turn up are more often at the switchboard, in old DIY additions or at joints in the roof space, all of which can be fixed without rewiring the whole house.
For repair work, you receive a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW), the NSW record that the work was carried out and tested by a licensed electrician. If you need a broader safety report for a rental, a sale or an insurer, that’s a separate inspection, and it can be booked at the same time.
Tell us what stopped working and when it happens. Call 0450 406 450 or send your details to arrange a visit. For heat, sparking or burning smells, stop using the affected fitting and call straight away.
